You hate them, You like them, or its whatever? While some cops are b!tches and just worry about giving out tickets and give you trouble, there are also cops that help people and/or are kool and will let you go if everything is legit. | | | 04-12-2007, 04:21 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Los Alamos, NM Posts: 344 | well, there is NO crime in my community, so cops get to write everybody up for BS reasons. If you have clear corners, they get you... hard. If you double park, they get you. If you J walk, they give you a ticket. I am all for cops that actually protect people from gangs and stuff, but the ones here are bored and idiots. | | | 04-12-2007, 05:16 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Quote: Originally Posted by momorugger well, there is NO crime in my community, so cops get to write everybody up for BS reasons. About the only time I have had trouble with our Polizei (a few words, one time, and a ticket the other) has been while riding my bicycle! The ticket wouldn't have happened had the city not (mis)designed the, then, new pedestrian zone. The cops who stopped me were quite understanding about that, but still had to give me the ticket, as the law is the law. They were fairly amused to discover I was born in Chicago and now lived just down the street from the city slaughterhouse. They laughed when I told them, that yes, ever so often, when the wind is just right, there is a strangely familiar smell. So on that note I don't have any issues with them, my friends brother is a cop, he was a D.A.R.E cop at first. My dad's g/f's son is a cop in RI so I guess you can say I have a good relationship with them and I don't have a problem with them since I don't cause any problems. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-12-2007, 02:29 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: New York, NY Posts: 39 | Some cops are cool.. the ones in the bronx are total asshats. I got pulled over and got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt last week.. problem was, i WAS wearing my seatbelt. he claimed he saw me putting it on! | | | 04-12-2007, 04:54 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | I would have asked to see that on video as it is too easy to imagine someone putting on a seatbelt after stopping enough people who actually were. That cop may not have been an asshat, just simply human. I suspect, however, he may have done a few other things that suggest I am completely wrong. | | | 04-12-2007, 06:40 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by datballa Some cops are cool.. the ones in the bronx are total asshats. I thought, I always wear a seatbelt and realized I had taken it off to get my registration out of the glove box. He accepted that as an explanation which of course was the truth. Most cops that have stopped me I realize are only doing their job. But some seem to enjoy it more than others. Those are the ones that I hate. Pull me over, give me the ticket, just don't lecture me. I love the one who gave me a ticket for an obscured rear plate, then another cop pulls over and noticed no front plate. I asked the cop to at least turn off the floodlight on me. I'm not going anywhere. Then there was the cop who stopped me when I had my M44 ti. He tells me, I know it's hard to keep your speed down in these cars. I told him, not really, it took me a while to get to that speed. I do find High School bullies generally become local cops. I guess the thing I do hate is that tickets are just for revenue. datballa, I went to CCHS. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-12-2007, 06:29 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: New York, NY Posts: 39 | no he was an asshat. I asked him if he saw the seatbelt and he said yes just not on you, which was bull because then I went and explained to him that the seat belt on my TI was further back than most cars, and the fact that he SAW the seatbelt shows that I had it on because if it was off, he wouldn't of been able to see it. he then starts to show off by pulling out his 7 series keyfob telling me he has a bmw aswell.. like i cared? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
