It's been a long time since I've asked a question that I wasn't able to look up or figure out. My question is in regards of the interior squeaky noise I hear as I am driving. I'm not sure if it's coming from the rear seats or the hinges from the rear seats or if it's the hatch door? It's really annoying and I haven't been able to figure out the gremlin source. So I'm hoping someone here knows the answer or has a solution. Thanks in advance guys. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! Marv's 332ti is in the werks. Anyone else have a fix. I also can hear a high pitched note as I drive coming from outside the car... I have a '96 California Roof automatic. | | | 08-21-2014, 04:38 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | As far as the hatch is concerned, there are two rubber stops on each side that you can extend out by turning it CCW to get the hatch to close tighter and not rattle. Try one turn CCW at a time. When the rear seat back latch is not seated, it squeaks too. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 08-22-2014, 01:32 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 315 | Turn up the radio. ;-) | | | 08-22-2014, 01:26 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | Quote: Originally Posted by 740isport Turn up the radio. ;-) | That's what I used to do until I tightened up the rear hatch and the rattles went away. However, it is harder to close now. But if the squeaking goes away I'll keep it as is. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I'm thinking it'll be the rear seats. However, they are latched in place. Is there a way to increase tension so it is reduced or maybe add something so it goes away? __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
