Some have said that the 96 - up Sport packages are all equipped with the "M" group. Is this correct, or was the "M" a separate option package altogether? I saw pictures of a ti that had an "M" gearshift knob, as well as a badge on the rear of the car. Are these badges stock, or did someone just stick on M3 badges at some point? | | | 05-01-2005, 09:31 AM | #2 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | Yes, it is true. None of the TI's ever came with an "M" Badge on the back. The door moldings, shift knob, and steering wheels were the only "M" logo items. -Chad | | | 05-02-2005, 03:22 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 153 | Mine came with an M badge centered in the Spoiler just above the Roundel. I have a '98 Sport. You can see more pics at the link in my signature, but here is a close-up of the badge I mentioned: __________________ 1998 318ti M-Sport - Jet Black w/Millpoint RedBlack interior Pics & Info here... | | | 05-02-2005, 03:38 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I think he was referring to when people add the ///M badge to the rear. BTW- I replaced my ///M inserts with Motorsport International. I installed it to the spoiler also. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-02-2005, 03:38 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Phoenix Posts: 7 | Thanks for the "M" badge info. I am looking at a 1998 ti that I believe to be a Sport, but I am not 100% sure. It appears to have the Sport options and body pieces (I think), but does not have a rear decklid spoiler. Is this spoiler on all Sports, or only an option? Thank you for any input. | | | 05-02-2005, 03:44 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | The rear spoiler is an option. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
