But without the flashing light shows and computer generated animations. I just need a clean looking deck that has the capability of hooking up a bunck of stuff to it (sub, amp, new speakers if I get the money). I would prefer getting one in all black but a little red would not hurt ( would match my interior). Anyone have any suggestions or am I stuck having to buy one that will eventually give me a headache***? | | | 11-07-2007, 03:09 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I have the JVC KD-PDR30, it's black and silver with red backlit buttons and a white display | | | 11-07-2007, 08:07 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Thats not bad but I'm not a huge fan of the chrome/silver parts all over it. I like how its got the red backlit text though. The best looking one I've ever seen was just a flat black front with no buttons. I think it was made by sony. The only reason I did not purchase one was because they apparently have a terrible remote system that come with it. If it was a touch display it would have been amazing. Anything others you can think of? | | | 11-07-2007, 09:04 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Wow, I just looked at every electronics store website I can think of (Future Shop, Best Buy, Vision, A&B...) and now I feel like throwing up. I swear, every deck is just plastered with lights and tons of tiny buttons and chrome parts. I think I am just going to try and find one that has a good button layout and maybee try and take the face off and paint it or something. Sorry for the sudden topic change but has anyone tried this? Success? | | | 11-07-2007, 09:36 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i think as long as you be very carful and mask parts off very precise t should work fine. get rid of that ugly chrome! | | | 11-07-2007, 09:39 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i have this head unit that came out of my ti just 2 days ago. it looked extremely clean in there and it seemed like a stock deck. it has a output rca connection and all the connections to run an amp and the speakers i wasnt like super programmable and didnt have the connection for my ipod or the mp3 cd capability so i swapped it for my nicer but flashy deck | | | 11-07-2007, 11:31 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | that one doesnt look to bad | | | 11-07-2007, 11:47 PM | #8 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | seeing the nak cd-35z made me check their website ( www.nakamichi.com). you may want to look at their offerings (probably not sold by most of the electronics giants). __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 11-07-2007, 11:54 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | good thinking cali check out there cd 300 i think its what you are looking for all black and had red buttons! very simple to the point but has features! | | | 11-08-2007, 01:10 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | what is it with all these brand names lol...i have a roadmaster VR3 it has a AUX jack, USB input, and a memory card input. along with mp3 and cd player. all for under $100. __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 11-08-2007, 01:14 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | found a picture of the 300 | | | 11-08-2007, 05:36 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | I have to say that one does match my interior perfectly.
