they'll fit, those are the M-technic moldings, you can get them for $170 from getbmwparts.com, cheapest you'll find them for new, I think I spent about $100 on used ones

I just received and installed the M-Tech kit from getbmwparts.com (Tischer) last weekend. They fit directly with no modifications required. They come with all the clips and elastomer tips that seal the body/door from the elements. And they look A LOT better!

The only thing I had to do was slide the clips around a little bit to line them up with the holes in the car.

And I think they were $160 for the ti version. Go to the specials link for E36, but be careful as there is likely to be other stuff you'll want to order as well...

Now I want to do M-Tech bumpers and rear spoiler but that's a bunch more money.

I like your Ti D. Nice and clean. I never realized how much a difference they made. Might have to do this myself!

Thanks for the complements - it's a work in progress. I looks clean as I had just washed it (as evidenced by the bucket in the background). I did the Meguiars clay and swirl remover thing several weeks ago and had just recently waxed it with their NXT wax so it was about as good as it can get. The closer you look, the more flaws you see.

The mouldings made a bigger difference than I thought they might so I am satisfied with the investment. Going to the next level will cost more - the good thing about the mouldings is that you don't need to paint them. The next step is part + ship + paint = $$$. Ouch.
