Default Engine builds...

What kind of builds can you do with an M44 motor? Since it only 1.9L there are obvious limits on bore and stoking. I assume most probably use a turbo for additional hp and tq. What are the limits of power and torque for a M44 and how is it achieved? I am interested more in an AutoX application than track.

I have built a highly modified E30M3 for street mod Auto-x. How does the M44 differ from the S14 engine (outside of 2.3 or 2.5 displacements)?

Sorry for the noob questions, just bought a ti sport for the wife. I never payed much attention to them, being an M3 guy....they are really cool cars. I want to learn more about them and their potential.

I doubt theres only one stroker kit out there, but i do know that the 1.9 to 2.1 conversion is available. If you dont do a swap, another way for more power is the DASC which has been gone over many times here on the org, just use the search fuction for that one....or you can always go with a custom turbo kit.

The ti's have the wheelbase of the sedans/coupes, front end of a sedan, and the rear suspension setup of the e30's. If you add a lot more power and want to upgrade to a big case diff and LSD, for practicality reasons, you can grab one from the e30s and have it bolt right up. *A couple of members have done this*

Hope this helps out, and if anyone want to add to, or correct me, please do so.

Welcome to the .org!
