My monitor started to shake. I thought someone was behind me rocking my cube. I know, nothing for you left coasters. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-23-2011, 07:47 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: Pennsylvania Posts: 85 | I'm in Pennsylvania and felt a very slight shake. I'm about 1 1/2 hours away from where it centered so it was a good shake and shimmy here. It was funny because a lot of the factory personnel and office staff were freaking but all the Japanese management and engineers just kept working like nothing was happening lol. They never even looked up! | | | 08-23-2011, 08:09 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Lol, I kept thinking, man those west coast guys are going to tear us apart for a measly 5.9. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 08-23-2011, 08:18 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Roanoke, VA Posts: 472 | One guy I work with grew up on the west coast and just walked in to the lab shakeing his head laughing at everyone. A couple of women screamed, couple of men screamed like women, shaking stopped and all was quiet lol. So far no damage has been reported other than to a few pairs of shorts. | | | 08-23-2011, 09:22 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | I was at school getting my soccer jerseys for the season about to go scrimmage and I was in the basement of the school an all the pipes were bending and everything was goin ape ****. Meh. I'm not even sure we would evacuate for that, here in CA. (kidding, of course) I spoke with my GF in DC a couple hours ago- she said everyone there was freaking out. They got sent home for the day, but she was kind of sketch on riding the Metro so she's just hanging out at a friend's house. Pretty heavy duty for the mid-atlantic! I read where it is the strongest quake to hit the region in 110 years! | | | 08-24-2011, 12:01 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner I spoke with my GF in DC a couple hours ago- she said everyone there was freaking out. | DC freak out if there is a snow flake.
