Default Samco silicone throttle boot

Can anyone +1 on this boot, I am heavily considering picking one of these up, Im aware of the cost. My intentions are purely cosmetic, however I have read rumor that they actually produce a noticable difference in HP and throttle response.

My choice of color would be blue.

Thanks.

I highly doubt they make any HP on anything except a car with a torn boot.

I have to agree, maybe a slight fraction of a horsepower but that's about it

Its a boot. You will not notice any difference in performance. Only reason anyone would say that it does is for the fact that it is smooth which means less restricted airflow but since the surface area is as samll as it is it wont matter. As you said it is purely cosmetic.

I think it'd be great for someone doing FI though...Doesn't think it'll allow for any flex though, which is the reason the boot has the bellows...

No waaaay, I thought I was gonna get 10HP.

Thanks for your opinions guys, IIRC i thought a few guys here had tried them out, I just wanted to see if any members were brave enough to spend that much on a boot and get a little feedback on it.

FamilyT, hit my idea right on the head. There is talk of very small HP gain over on the bimmerForums...but rather a greater throttle response with a DASC. Im sure is doesnt hurt and it looks nice.

I'll let you know....
