A large snow bank blocked my view all the way down the road, so I didn't see the other car until it was too late. It was clearly my fault, I had it coming, I drive like a mad-man in the snow. Police were not amused, nor was the other driver (He drove a Saturn that cracked apart really bad). $120 ticket for "driving too fast for conditions". Looks like I'll need a new rear driver's side quarter panel and a new rear bumper. I have a $0 deductible for occasions like this. Nobody was hurt, thankfully. It was a relatively low speed accident. My first in the 318ti! I'm thinking I'll do the work myself and get the ///M bumpers and skirts at the same time. Good times.... __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 03-04-2007, 01:08 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | I like the animation Dunsten. It doesn't look too bad. Body shop can probably bondo it up and paint the parts. You go DK!! Good to hear nobody got hurt and bimmer not seriously damaged. | | | 03-04-2007, 01:37 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | snow drifting is pretty fun though. that 1/4 looks salvageable...could have been worse though right? hey- I just found my m3 bumper backed into with a trailor hitch from my budds's neighbor. I identified the truck, the hitch lines up perfect. The owner says it wasn't his, i'm outta luck...again....even with tire tracks and the obvious. __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 03-04-2007, 03:21 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | florida ice > snow. Nothing like a light rain..slick pavement, and a 1000 ft slide throw a busy intersection on a film of oil/water and whatever else and getting through it 1" from your friend's rear end when he stops. cause he's watching from his rear and is thinking your going to die(wasn't in the Ti(S)..this was the fuken Sicvic FWD death/theft trap. Btw, love the animation, but it needs some sound to be prefect. Esp a Ka-POW! at the moment of impact. | | | 03-04-2007, 03:22 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | dusten sorry for what happened, i had a fender bender at school my car wasn't damaged but i put like a little dent in their rear driver 1/4 panel on the near the bumper it was a chevy suburban. this was my first crash by myself it was the first time in the ti. was very pissed because i thought my parents would be pissed and take the car away but my mom was cool about it said accidents happen. damage was $1000 insurace went up by 2% before the crash i switched from american to gieko so it wasn't that bad then i gave them my grades and now its all good. o how much is the damage to the saturn?? __________________ Greg M42 Club member 186 WTB: HELLROT RED CLUB SPORT 95 ti sold but staying in the family. | | | 03-04-2007, 03:23 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Boost Junky needs to change to Drift King then you need to ride around in a Burger King mask for a vid. | | | 03-04-2007, 07:41 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Fl...tampa area Posts: 320 | well, its obviously your own fault and you shouldnt have done it, but i cant talk because i almost did the exact same thing today. been raining all damn day and i was definately sideways around every corner, one of which had a car at a stop sign lol atleast you have no deductable, but your premium will likely go up a bit | | | 03-04-2007, 09:32 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Northern New Jersey Posts: 395 | Saturns suck. I was in my friend's Saturn over the summer, and we hit this huge pothole in NYC. When we got to our destination... we noticed he was missing something. His rear bumper. Saturn Skys look sweet though. | | | 03-04-2007, 09:46 AM | #9 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I say you part it out.(Dibs on the S/C!!!) J/K, wait until the summer to get it repaired. There's nothing like a fresh paintjob in the summer. Also, screw the animation! Lets see some video!!! Any way we could convince you into doing a reinactment, minus the collision of course? | | | 03-04-2007, 09:50 AM | #10 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | BTW, the "Douche" was clearly in your lane making a left turn waaay too sharp at high speed on packed snow! Isn't that what you told the insurance company? And didn't you notice a faint odor of alcohol emitting from his breath when he told you he was in a hurry and not to call the cops? | | | 03-04-2007, 01:34 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Btw, I may have come off as uncaring earlier, didn't mean it. I'm sorry to hear about it. I know how much time and energy you put into the car. It sucks when Sheit happened to them. every time a Ti gets a ding...it makes Jesus Cry. It's not bad as damage goes, and it could always be worse. Best part: you walked away...I got a friend in Penn, that rolled his S/C 99 M3 well his friend driving rolled it for him...but his(my friend) belt broke and now his back is all sorts of f'd up. He's been on Meds, to Doctors, and looks like Surgery is coming up...all cause of 1 crash..that took seconds..has changed years of his life. | | | 03-04-2007, 01:56 PM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Pennsburg PA Posts: 13 | NICE REFLECTION OF THE COP IN THE 1/4 PANEL.
