Default General Gripe.

So I don't get it. I take very good care of my car and for the most part respect other vehicles on the road. Since got my TI which I love, it seems like others that don't have one will generally go out of their way to F**** with my ride.

Several months ago it got keyed, then later at work someone backed into the front of my car denting the grill and today I find that someone busted out the pass. side mirror.

What the hell?

Is it that i have a BMW and all the haters out there are pissed that they can't scrape some money together in order to buy something decent.

Is it the TI's fault that you have to resort to a MiniVan or a Saturn or if your lucky a Pont. GrandAm....

Just leave my damn car alone!

End Gripe.

By the way do i need to replace the whole mirror or can i just replace the glass?

that sucks I'm always careful where I park my car, and I can see it from where I work so I always have an eye on it

if nothing else in the mirror's broken I think you can replace the glass

Sorry to hear that Chris. I think there's "BMW Haters" and then it goes even further to "Ti Haters". Subsequentially, the Ti haters are usually BMW owners.

you can replace just the glass. Look on realoem.com for the part number then order at getbmwparts.com or your local dealer.

I too have had my fair share of vandalism. I have had the car keyed and had my hood roundel scraped down to just the chrome. I don't know what it is that attracts vandals to our cars but like Jess said there are those BMW haters and also people(mostly kids) looking to ruin a good looking car. It sucks but that is also why I have my shock sensor on my alarm turned up high. You can't slap my car without it screaming. lol.

i an ugly s-10 pickup before my ti. people would toss their trash from taco bell or whatever in the back when it was parked. i also had a headlight, bedliner and some exterior trim pieces stolen off of it while i was at work once, as if i'd parked it in auto wrecker's.

regardless of car, there's just a whole mess of asshats out there..

as for the ti, people can't seem to fathom a cheap bmw. i've met people with civics that are easily worth more, yet they act like i'm pushing a bentley in a tweed coat or something.

Viper alarm system. You adjust it by holding down the aux and panic button and then adjust the level with the lock and unlock buttons. There is a display for the level on the LCD screen on the remote. I read about it in the manual.

living in the country would be great however i live in Kansas City..... that should be enough said! thanks for the feed back it seems like the glass just snaps back in place when i get a new one. Funny thing is i never knew that i had heated mirrors the wires are there but i don't think they were ever hooked up. bad part is that the guy broke part of the plasic on the back side of the mirror. if anyone has a pass mirror housing in decent shape lemme know.

Anyone know how to rig a alarm that will pump about 5000 volts though anyone touching my ride? HA!

In the US.. many owners of "real" BMWs hate the Ti. ESPECIALLY owners of E36 M3s. Like we are a threat to them or something.

It's not that we're a threat. It's that they consider hatchbacks ricers. Yet it's funny when they put on a LTW and clears and say "it's not rice".
