I asked him if he was willing to sell the ti outside of the package deal, and he said yes. Always interested in getting a leg up, I asked him what he was asking for this red cali-top: $5800. Not unreasonable, but out of my budget range unfortunately. I let him know that while I couldn't offer him what he was currently asking, I would be interested in talking to him again if his sales weren't successful and he lowered the price. His response was: "Dude. I do not need to sell the car. I do not need the money. I would just buy a different car with the money. maybe you should buy a 1990 honda civic that would more what you afford" Mind you I never did tell him what I was offering, and I was polite in every reply. I felt it was just unnecessarily rude of him to assume that because I couldn't offer him what he wanted, I was some kind of broke idiot who was trying to con him out of a car. If he didn't want to sell it, why did he put the ad up? | | | 01-11-2008, 02:47 PM | #2 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | perhaps he also is an m3 owner? according to the Top Gear guys, they're c0cks __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 01-11-2008, 03:19 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | F that dude, he's never gonna sell it like that. I'll contact you later when you realize your price is unreasonable." The easiest way to avoid offending people is not to talk to them. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 01-11-2008, 04:31 PM | #7 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | Quote: Originally Posted by ATF Damn rich Westport people... | i like rich people. they're the ones who make the large initial purchases, take the big hits in depreciation and allow me to actually be able to afford products that i otherwise wouldn't be able to they also typically have those products "taken care of" by the dealer or vendor they purchased them from to maximize the selling price when they no longer want it. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 01-11-2008, 04:32 PM | #8 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | Quote: Originally Posted by campaiar The easiest way to avoid offending people is not to talk to them. | i'm tempted to make that part of my sig! lol __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 01-11-2008, 05:11 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | Time to move on if this guy is being a PRICK! As time passes, those extra features that cost the original owner thousands, cost you hundreds. In the end it's all about the dollar, bug him in a month after he doesn't sell. I should mention the best cars I have ever gotten were from hardasses, they are often fiends about upkeep. | | | 01-12-2008, 12:27 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | yep and selling cars can be stressful when you get call after call or email after email! it just drives you crazy. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 01-12-2008, 06:07 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Fallon Nevada Posts: 178 | gettta m3 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
