Besides, "it's a dry heat". Who was the comedian who had a "Yeah, but it's a dry heat!" routine? Does AZ have ridiculous anti-tinting laws, too? Beautiful really. Especially today. I put the other rear speaker in mine today and since the cat showed up I tossed that on also. __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-26-2010, 08:08 AM | #426 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Honolulu, HI Posts: 133 | Ended up that what I thought were holes, were the screws I was looking for (pretty small, deeply inset into the old head unit, and 44 year old eyes. . .). Well, a quick search of my tools found the torx parts required and the old cassette player came right out. So far everything works on the new head unit and I should be securing it on Saturday. Thanks for the assistance folks! Quote: Originally Posted by roadrash Mine requires a 5-sided tool, similar to a hex key... I guess that'd make it a pent key. Just yesterday I got the Dinan software. It was on sale. | | | 06-29-2010, 07:07 PM | #429 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Canton, Georgia, USA Posts: 8 | wasted an hour or so, replacing the window regulator only to find that its the motor that's the problem. runs fine, but gets close to the top and strips. sigh, anyone want a good used regulator? anyone got a good used motor? HATE going back into that door again.... | you aren't alone, both my regulators failed on my today while it was raining, luckily I was able to get them up and I disconnected both window switches so I don't accidentally hit them and knock the windows completely off the tracks printed up Jess' DIY for the fun day tomorrow | | | 06-29-2010, 10:40 PM | #431 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Auburn, Alabama Posts: 206 | Talk about heat. The heat down here keeps shrinking and cracking my tint. It was 108 heat index at 90% humidity at school on Monday. Alabama cops couldn't give a crap about your tint. | | | 06-30-2010, 01:29 AM | #432 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Canton, Georgia, USA Posts: 8 | trouble is, the problem is the motor not the regulator. now I have a good used regulator and just wasted a hundred bucks on the new one I installed anyway. Sigh. I think the pinion on the motor overrides the gear it turns which turns the bigger gear which turns the rack on the regulator. | | | 06-30-2010, 03:17 AM | #433 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Forgot I left it parked in an afternoon tow away zone.... Luckily just a 100 buck ticket and the car was still there. __________________ No more ti. | | | 07-01-2010, 04:54 AM | #434 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 07-02-2010, 02:00 AM | #435 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | you stealing my ideas? looks cool though, did you end up getting it through rallygrafix or someplace else? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
