Default painting interior

has anyone ever done or has experience in painting interior parts like the dash door panels and stuff of that such. i am/was watching unique auto and they did it and it go me thinking because i do plan on changing mine out to black any ways so why no paint it. and it looked good. now i have see alot of poor paint jobs on dashes before but i am looking for a good method or product to use to start my next project. any insight will be great.

Default I'm no expert, but...

I'm no expert, but based on some Google hits, you have to know what kind of plastic it is, then be prepared for a lot of cleaning, sanding, priming, etc.

I assume you're not talking about painting the fabric....

i just finished my conversion.

i used flat black vinyl dye i got from pepboys and autozone on my door/rear panels, console, dash, etc. (ive used this on my civic before and it has held up perfectly for 8+yrs)

recovered my a pillars and headliner in suede i got from joann fabrics.

got some m3 vaders and rear seats on the way.

when i get time im going to dye my carpet with some rit dye.

looks a million times better than the nasty light grey/beige

time to track down some black visors, handles and lights.

i have looked into the SEMS product line and it seems like it is going to be a winner. i have found alot of forums where people have used it and posted pics of the out come and from what i have seen they made it to look stock not any of that high gloss stuff so it seems to be what i was looking for. i will try to photo document my progress when i get started hopefully over thanksgiving but gotta se how it goes.

but as for what i plan to do is remove all trimm dash and all and treat and paint it all black ( interior is that whitish gray color) and do a complete color change to black except for the leather on the seat and the white leather/vinyl insert on the door and have a two tone look (i think it will give it that retro look and the outside of the car is black) but lucky for me i have a cali top so from the top of my doors up is already black. but if i don't like the two tone then i will redo the doors fully black and find some black seats. but i haven't decided on the carpet yet and dying it or just find one but i will have to look into it.

that will look great, I know Jess is going for a similar color scheme in his ti, he already has the dove grey vaders and rear seats, just needs the inserts for the doors
