QUESTION(s): I've had a set of Eibach lowering springs and Blisten struts/shocks laying around the garage for about 5 yrs in NEW condition, never used. I was thinking of finally installing them on my 98ti. What do you guys think? Are they still any good and if so, would that be something I could do myself? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks | | | 07-22-2005, 08:31 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: St. Louis Posts: 138 | If they are sport struts I don't think you should install them. Definitely not. You should just sell them to me. __________________ 97 sport | | | 07-22-2005, 08:32 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: St. Louis Posts: 138 | One question, maybe you would know. Are the front shocks easy to install? I haven't seen any DIYs. __________________ 97 sport | | | 07-22-2005, 09:45 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: Los Angeles, SoCal Posts: 77 | maherbaz, They are sports struts and they suppose to lower the car about 1" or 1 1/2"...can't remember. I am not sure of the difficulty of the installation. That is why I am here to ask. I have done a couple of them on my toyota truck but I realize they are much simpler to work on and it is NOT a bimmer! lol | | | 07-22-2005, 10:18 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Actually I'd work on the bimmer suspension ANY day over a Toyota. MUCH easier. When I changed the shocks on my escort, I had to use a machine to clamp the spring down. I think that I don't have to use this for my rear shocks, but my front shocks do have the spring wrapped around them, so I would have to use the compressing machine. Is this right? __________________ 97 sport | | | 07-22-2005, 10:40 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | That sounds correct...the spring thingie looks like this....maybe Quote: Originally Posted by maherbaz I'm trying to figure this out...
