Hi All, Since this is my first posting, I might as well give an intro....I'm new to the Ti boards, but I've been a BMW CCA club member in good standing for a decade. CCA#138814 I've been an instructor and racer since '98, spending most of my time at WGI, Lime Rock, Mosport, Shannonville, and Tremblant. I've raced in the Barber Dodge series, Bridgestone F2000 series, and BMW CCA club racing. I moved from Rochester, NY to Austin, TX in 2003 but maintain membership in both Genesee and Tejas chapters. Feel free to ask around, I'm well known in the Genesee Valley Chapter, and among fellow drivers and club members... Roy Hopkins (of One Lap and Targa Newfoundland fame), Sam McCleary ("bubba" driver of the big yellow Nascar race truck), Gary Moore (owner T-shirt Express and regular attendee at GVC and Trackmasters events) and Randy Ames (owner of Phoenix Imports in E. Rochester). I've always wanted to build a 332 Ti and recently acquired the following parts to complete that dream... however life throws you some curves, and I have a family to take care of. Since I already have 4 cars and a house to maintain, my wife decided that I don't have time or money for yet another project. With that in mind, I regretfully offer the following for sale: 2000 M-roadster S52 conversion parts with only 57.5K on the clock. VIN# and Carfax history to back it up. Yes.. it only has 57K and was running in the car when parted out. The following was removed from this California car after it was rear ended and given a salvage title: engine, clutch & transmission (still bolted together, including all manifolds, TB, MAF, ECU & security code box with matching coded key and steering column), the whole dang wiring and fuse/relay harness out of the engine compartment), coil packs, twin O2 sensors, alternator (spins freely), PS pump (also good), AC compressor (may need flushing, but should be fine) No fan or fan clutch. All above items still in original shipping crate, and ready for shipping from Texas, 78750 I also have the following: NEW, unused M radiator, complete used exhaust, including cats, and dual mufflers, used driveshaft, used rear differential (with cooling fins intact), M-Z3 springs, Front and rear brake rotors and M-calipers with rubber lines intact. 57.5K on these parts as well. I'm reluctant to throw a price up because i haven't seen anyone offering all these parts together or a late S52 with such low mileage, I figure the market will set the price. If I don't sell it now, I'll keep it and wait for the right Ti to come along. If the parts were all seperate, I would expect the engine and transmission alone to bring upwards of $4K. Bavarian recycling is asking nearly 4K for a used engine alone, without any accessories, manifolds, ECU, harness, transmission etc. This is complete. Throw in the brakes, driveshaft, and diff and you are up into the 5 to 6K range. A rebuilt Jim Rowe LSD. will run you around $1700 without shipping, (I know, I just put one in my M3) so figure roughly half that for a used one in excellent condition like this. Expect used calipers to run you a couple hundred a set..This stuff is very clean.. still have all the original factory bar codes and part # stickers on them. I am open to selling the rear end, exhaust, mufflers, and brakes seperately, I will not seperate the engine parts in the crate. Please e-mail for carfax report or to make me an offer. Thanks!!! Good luck with the sale. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 02-20-2006, 06:19 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Austin, TX Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali welcome! Yeah, I come from the school of One Lap and Grassroots Motorsport Challenge cars. Come across a good engine deal and snap it up. The chassis is easier to find. That is kinda how it goes, you find a really big engine and you start to figure out what to put it in; but I've always wanted a Ti. Ever since I saw the AA Turbo One Lap car. It was all over. When I worked at NA, I always said we should have sold the 323Ti here even if it was for one year. It's not like it would have required extensive EPA recertification or DOT testing. Not that I like the Benz but the 230 did have close to 190hp. Pretty close to a Ti engine with DASC. I was only consoled by the promise of a 240hp 2400lb MINI, but that car was never seen by the public. I was toying with the idea of putting this S52 in my E30 M3 race car, but I have so much money in the S14 engine and the suspension is setup for the 4 cyl. There are so few E30's around, and the car is soooo good as it is. I'm working on my 535i now and hoping to get closer to 300hp when finished, and then I have this Megasquirted 914 2.3L. that needs tweaking and tuning.. so I have my projects. Unless someone has a $2000.00 Ti with a blown engine? | | | 02-23-2006, 06:57 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Austin, TX Posts: 9 | Several Ti members have e-mailed asking for a quote, and that's great! THANKS!!! Rather than have all the back and forth offers and counter offers, I figure I would just give you all a market reference price and let you make offers from there: I have spoken with several recycling yards and the quotes have come back.... $5-700 for the diff. $150 for each front caliper, $75 per rear caliper, $75 for the springs, $3800 to $4000 for the engine ALONE, no EWS, no ECU, no Harness, no AC., PS, Alt. $100 for a driveshaft. And don't forget I have a brand new, in the box S52 radiator to boot, which I will throw in. I don't think those are terribly unreasonable prices, but I am willing to negotiate greatly if someone is willing to take the whole lot. One stop shopping. Rocket in a box. No OBDI conversions, all plug and play. Whomever takes it is getting a great deal. Thanks for looking. I look forward to hearing from you. | | | 02-27-2006, 05:01 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: St.Charles IL.
