Not super strong, but definitely noticeable. I popped the rear seat and fuel pump covers out to inspect. Nothing i can see through the access hole is wet. Anyone run across this before? Thanks in advance. | | | 07-09-2016, 03:07 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Oct 2015 Location: Slidell, Louisiana USA Posts: 89 | Nevermind. I pulled the cover on the left side of the tank and it's wet inside the ring. | | | 07-09-2016, 06:53 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2015 Location: Santa Rosa, CA Posts: 62 | I have the same problem but bad when full and only when turning left hard lower than 3/4. Probably needs new tank gaskets | | | 07-11-2016, 02:39 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Oct 2015 Location: Slidell, Louisiana USA Posts: 89 | Mine ended up being a crack in the suction pump upper housing. I couldn't find one for a resonable price, so I'm going to try JB weld as soon as the fuel level drops a bit. | | | 07-12-2016, 05:53 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | What is the pump housing made of? JB Weld probably will not work very well if it is a low energy plastic. | | | 07-12-2016, 07:42 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Oct 2015 Location: Slidell, Louisiana USA Posts: 89 | Not sure. Seems pretty hard. I was going to sand it a bit first to improve adhesion. | | | 07-12-2016, 07:58 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | JB Weld sells a two-part urethane adhesive for bonding plastics such as polyethylene. I would try that before an epoxy if the part has any kind of flex to it. Its big drawback, if it is like all the urethane and polyurethane adhesives I have used, is that it does not have a very long shelf life – so you want to check that it is pretty fresh Last edited by John Firestone; 07-12-2016 at 08:25 PM. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
