I suggest getting Jim's manual ASAP, he did the M-roadster motor swap and went into nice detail on the differences between that and the E36 version found in M3's. I won't get into the extra tidbits that you will need since I learned it from Jims manual and it is copyrighted work... but if you don't know the differences, id make it top priority getting a copy. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 06-28-2008, 10:45 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Virginia Posts: 242 | Got Jim's manual about 2-3 months ago, before I planned on starting this project. I only bought this engine now because it only has 17k on it. Not sure when I am going to start because there are other things to get straight before I start and I work in the evenings and then there is back up transportation and classes to consider, so don't hold your breath on me really getting started anytime soon, but I will definitely take pictures of the procedure. | | | 06-29-2008, 03:08 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | don't mind me... good luck with the swap! __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 06-29-2008, 09:59 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I say we make June the official 318ti.org swap month congrats on the purchase, I might be starting my own swap soon, I just have to wait for my dad to total his M3 | | | 06-29-2008, 10:01 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak I say we make June the official 318ti.org swap month congrats on the purchase, I might be starting my own swap soon, I just have to wait for my dad to total his M3 | yeah, why dont you go out and loosen his lug nuts.... while you're at it make sure you are a beneficiary on his life insurance | | | 06-29-2008, 10:38 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by angel318ti while you're at it make sure you are a beneficiary on his life insurance | I am, and if my mother dies at the same time, everything in the will is written to me | | | 06-29-2008, 10:44 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | WOOT WOOT good luck! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-29-2008, 10:59 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Good luck to you I swear everyone and their mother is doing swaps. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . I am trying to find a GOOD body shop that can get out the dings and give my ti a paint job so black that any who look upon it feels like their eyesight is being drawn into a collapsar (black hole) and just cannot look away... I guess I will ask the dealership(s) around here who does their work. | | | 06-30-2008, 02:54 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | nice! would have been AWESOME to get the whole rear! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
