Default Engine Reliability??

Hi There,

I'm brand new today to this forum!!

Looking to buy a 318ti as Ive seen a good few.

I'm a 21 year old lad, but looking at the cars for sale n auto trader, they all have quite high mileage.

Could anyone lend me sum advice on what mileage car to go for, or if you know of someone selling a decent 318ti, let me know.

What mileage do the 318ti engines normally do??
120K?
150K?
180K?

Im used to cars that and told to be "high mileage" at 90K

Budget.. Approx (2500 sterling)

Lower the better!!!

all depends on how well the car was taken care of.

we have quite a few members who have over 300k miles on their cars.

Make sure any care you buy has detailed maintenance records and you are certain it is in good shape.

I've seen E46 type compacts for 2500

Imo just keep looking 1500 should get you a good low miles e36

Mark,

I just picked up an S Reg with 64K for 1750, off Autotrader. There are a lot of high mileage Ti's for sale, but like you I was sceptical about buying a higher mileage car. Ive been told it could happily do twice its current mileage if well looked after, so Ive got a fair few years useage.

I bought mine with 150k. The previous owner took good care of the car. I haven't had any major troubles. All my money has been going towards mods.

Thanks for the replies! Ahah, I have been considering one myself but it too has high mileage and have been skeptical towards it. This is reassuring.
