At the time, the ti was my only car so I bought a matching spare DME, EWSII box, and key chip to get tuned and swap in with no down time. This is a 668 DME from the later M44 cars. As opposed to the 667 DME. Includes the EWSII box that goes under the glovebox and one chip to put in the key. (I only ever had one key chip.) Tune specs: - Manual Transmission Car - 7000 rpm rev limit - 91 octane fuel or better - CAI/Fogg'd box - Catback exhaust I ran this DME for at least 40,000 miles, no issues with the tune. There is noticeable power gains and easily was the second best mod for the money on my M44. First being the fogg'd airbox. Sold shipped for the set. Plug and play, keep your stock DME or sell it to someone else. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM Last edited by spidertri; 10-05-2016 at 01:50 AM. | | | 05-28-2016, 02:45 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I forgot to mention that this only works on the later M44 cars with 668 DME. (See part number below "bosch" in the first pic) Early cars have 667 DMEs. I believe the change over happened around model year 1998, best bet is to confirm what you have in your car first. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 05-31-2016, 04:12 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Price drop bump __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-12-2016, 02:52 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Bump bump __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-13-2016, 03:59 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2016 Location: Western MA Posts: 16 | Does this have any adverse impact on fuel economy? The ti became more and more track oriented over the years but in general on road trips I was still seeing around 30mpg. That's with sticky 245 tires and a 3.73 diff. As with any tune, the extra power initially makes you want to floor it everywhere. Once you're used to it it's easy to drive "like normal" and get good mileage. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 08-29-2016, 03:25 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Bump, obo __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-03-2016, 02:25 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: 65535 Posts: 10 | How do you put the chip in the key and what is the price drop? You can swap the chip to your current key or just tape it near the ignition. http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh....php?t=1207923 __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
