Default something missing ???

hi i was fitting new speakers in my bmw 318ti and i pulled back the carpet stuff on the left side of the car and there was a random wire that looks like it goes in to some box kind of thing i tryed serching for what it could be but carnt seem to find any thing on it if anybody has any ideas what it could be plz let me know if its important or not thanks

Its the left side in the boot on the pasengers side of car
its a uk bmw 318ti

Possibly the antenna amplifier or factory stereo amp.

Have a look at realoem.com. You can look up the diagrams and parts lists for the different systems that came on the car.

Also, if you're unsure of what system your car has (I think there were 3 options), you can have your VIN decoded (see the "Lounge" in the forum) and it will tell you which system was fitted.

Good luck with the speaker replacement. I have a new OEM rear speaker on the way and I plan to have a go at replacing the left rear myself. Based upon other accounts of dealing with the rear speakers, I expect much patience will be required.
