The 2 front lines were obviously longer than the 4 lines in the rear-that wasn't a problem. My concern does lie with the two front brake lines though, when I went to install them with the car jacked up under the side-rocker jack points and the front suspension at full droop, there was no way in hell that the brake lines could be connected to the caliper and reach the brake rotors (for mounting). The lines seemed to be too short, definitely shorter than stock at least. I *was* able to install the lines by compressing the front suspension a bit--however, if the suspension will ever see full droop again, the front brake lines will have to snap first. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm going to try contacting TMS as soon as I can / after they open up again to see what the deal is. How in the world are you ever going to service your car? I would put the old ones on, or get the correct lines ASAP. It'a a dangerous situation, please be careful. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 01-03-2006, 08:26 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | FMD, That doesn't sound like a good situation. I used the SS lines from Bavarian Autosport and didn't have any issues like that. Is it possible that you're getting more droop than you should on your suspension? Let us know what you figure out. | | | 01-04-2006, 01:44 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Seattle Posts: 181 | Hm I got a reply from TMS which asked if I could provide the stock front brake line measurements and send the info their way.. except I don't have the old brake lines anymore . Does anyone have a set of old / uninstalled front brake lines lying around and can measure their length for me? I'd really appreciate it. It's BMW part number 34-32-1-159-717-M4 if that helps any. These are the pictures of the lines I found on pelican parts: Thanks to whoever has these measurements! | | | 01-04-2006, 02:01 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | 18 1/2" from tip to tip. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-04-2006, 02:47 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Seattle Posts: 181 | Really? But I don't think they are any longer than that. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-04-2006, 02:59 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Seattle Posts: 181 | I thought the front brake lines were the same in all the basic e36 cars, I wonder even if my stainless lines were for a non-ti, why they wouldn't fit. I've got koni yellows and vogtland springs all around but I'm pretty sure that shouldn't make a bit of difference. | | | 01-04-2006, 03:57 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by FMD I thought the front brake lines were the same in all the basic e36 cars, I wonder even if my stainless lines were for a non-ti, why they wouldn't fit.
