i wanna say that the obd conversion has to do with change the wiring harness and ecu and stuff. which you have to do for the swap anyway. but i'm not 100% on that.

I can't imagine it being too much extra work (if any). Especially compared to an engine swap.

thanks for the feed back I thought since i have a donor car it would be easy but wasn't sure. Also I am swapping the trans. the ti is auto and the 325i is manual. Hopefully that isn't to hard to swing. Luckily I have access to some metal cutting and welding tools if need be

good luck with it.

this thread may be nice to have:
http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthrea...light=obd+swap

and this talks about the auto to manual conversion:
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=79886

Just glancing over it, it seems like since you already have all the parts there won't be any real issues. I would probably do all the maintenance stuff while i'm in there though (new clutch, shift bushings, blah blah blah..)

I have all the info on OBDII to OBDI conversion for an m50 into a post 95 ti. The auto to manual swap isnt hard and doesnt require any welding. Check out Phamsters build thread and my build thread for your complete guide to building your 325ti.
