Offset on these is very low in comparison to E36 Ti.

yeah, it has a 20 offset, yet retains or hub bore. I think that it gives our car a lot better stance (amazing how 15mm can make a huge difference). I can't complain. As long as the correct tire size is on, there is very minimal rubbing without rolling the fenders.

+1 paint first - then mount - if paint is chipped, KILL the guy who did it.

yea i know right!! i'm up at my apt at school, the wheels are down in houston, im goin home friday.. the tires i'm mounting are there also... i think their 225x50(or 45)x16 gforce sports

i'm like dying because i have to wait... and have VERY little patience lol... polishing the lips prolly aint the best plan for me but it HAS to be done so thats how im approaching it. paints most likely off of them, my Dad is retired and has a pretty stocked up garage/shop so he has just been applying the oven cleaner and paint thinners and other solvents, so i'm guessing the polishing wont be TOO hard as they are pretty good condition and super clean now.

SOOOO WHAT do you guys think is the best way to do this.. ive seen it done to a STi on work wheels, they literally posted it up on jackstands and put in 2nd gear and ran it... all 4 spinning, just applied the abrasives in order and put on mothers polish... and it looked like a mirror. i want something like this but not so sure i like the idea of having a running car on jack stands for extended periods... especiallly since i have 2 wheels that spin... it would take longer. my dad is tryin to rig somethin up either gas or electric spinning rig.. ie 1/2 chuck set up like a router under a table or sumthin... a spare go ped engine mounted on a table with the spindle on the tire.... hmmmmmmmm

Good find!
Those 16x8 ET23's from the E38 base 7 series look money on the smaller E36's or E30's. Can't wait to see them on the car!

Oh and from when I had them on my 328, the offset in the front makes the wheel stick out more in comparison to the rear. I think a 10 mm rear spacer (assuming fenders rolled) will balance the look out more. Just my opinion though.

wellllllll correct me if im wrong but 1999 mtechniks were 1'' lower all around or how everymany so mm's lower? thing loooks super good... overall well worth the 300$ even i spent total, takes around 15-20 hours of work total, my lips arent even THAT mirror looking, but man the car looks 150% better than it did! i highly suggest these wheels with this treatment for our cars wow its good lookin... i think.
