Yeah...that was me.

Details: His battle wagon was running a GT28RS @ 23-24psi on 110 octane that day.
It wasn't a bonofide race by any means (didn't even know he was gonna post these up).

He had just got the A/F tuned for the upgraded turbo (after several months) and we were heading to the track to see some results. Before we left, Josh said, "Here's a camera...takes some vids of my car".

I said, "Alright, dude, but I am not going above 100". (I am not much into street racing.) All of this took place on a long stretch of interstate (speedlimit of 70). The vids were of 60-90mph pulls.

Now, the video can be deceptive. I let-off and even braked when I hit 90mph (I like low insurance rates), so there is a "sling shot" effect that makes the Audi look like a rocket ship. The Audi was a good-bit faster than my hatch, but nothing like the video leads you to believe.

They were more or less supposed to be videos to show-off his newly tuned Audi.

He's got a ton of torque-to-weight over me so with both of us having passengers...I was on the losing end. I could feel an acelleration loss with a passenger. Had we been without passengers and I would have gone to higher speeds, I think I could have slowed his pull a bit better.

But whatever. The audi was faster.

Afterwards, I drove his audi at the dragway. On high boost, it pulls harder than my old Lightning.

Those vids are from like April. I have since sold the 330ti and traded in the lightning for an '05 EVO MR. Here is a vid from the MR vs. Audi race (I am in the left lane). http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....5C84&kw=29&p=0

I redlighted by .018, but he cut a good tree, so it was close enough. The video is crap, but I put about 2+ CL's on him by the end and was still pulling (The MR traps a bit higher). My MR just has a full 3" exhaust and K&N drop-in filter.

He has since sold the audi (see a trend?!!!!).

Hey Sean

I was told you did a diff swap and kept your 318ti flanges in the diff. I've got a 3.46LSD from a 5 series to put in. I plan on using my 318ti flanges. Can you confirm that the 318ti flanges work fine in the 3.46 6-cylinder housing, and will hold up?

Thanks
Eric

I took the grease covers off the ends of the axles to fit them in. It's nasty looking, but the output flanges are cup desgined, so I packed some extra grease in the CV joint, and seal the output flange and axle together with some silicone. It's not the best solution, but it's "How I roll".

I probably had 40-50 passes at the strip, not to mention Auto-X's and funny-business, so durability wasn't a problem. This was with a E34 M5 clutch, too, so the diff. got put through heck and back.

BTW, the diff I used was from my '86 535i (3.25LSD). It had about 150K on it. No probelms at all. BMW over-engineers their drive-line.
