Default Secondary air pump code

So i picked up a 99 318ti a few months back needing a clutch, i changed that out and i absolutely love it but i keep having an issue with the secondary air pump code. The issue was all the vacuum lines were cracked so i replaced them but i cannot figure out where one of the lines go. It is the line going upward from point #2 on the diagram attached. If you can help me figure out where that goes i would greatly appreciate it.

The other thing i am contemplating making a secondary air pump simulator to simplify things. If i made one, do all the vacuum lines in the picture need to stay? or i can i remove them without any issue.

Is the one in question off the hard line? Then it may go underneath the upper intake manifold.
At least it does on my M42.

I'm planning on pulling my intake to check/replace the same hoses on my M44 tomorrow. I'll look and take a few pics for you.

Ask Johnboyxxx about the simulator.

328ti, it's off of the T-fitting, but the hoses are all rubber vacuum lines and sits underneath the lower intake. From what i gather, M44 is a different setup then the M42 because it does not have a secondary air pump but i don't know how different the lines that do run are.

And BlackBMWs i would greatly appreciate pictures. I've been trying to get this thing to pass emissions and this one little code is the last thing holding me up. When i got the car the check engine bulb was bad and didn't know. 2 Cam position sensors, intake tubing, gas cap, vacuum lines and and a few gaskets later i am almost done.

Oh. The M42 doesn't have the t-fitting. Thought you might have been talking about the other hose. And yes, they don't have the secondary air pump.

Turns out I didn't have to go so deep where I could see the t fitting to take a pic on my 97 M44, however does that t-fitting perhaps supply vacuum to the fuel reg under the driver seat? I recall when I swapped motors a vacuum line going down and looked at the diagram for the fuel. Hose 16.

I hope you locate the other end of the t. I believe the other end of the t goes to the intake manifold.

Good luck! Rich

Thank you for your help. There was a cap covering the vacuum port on the TB and i didn't think it went there as the cap looked like it had been there a while and was factory. Finally my SAP code went off.

The circled one in the pic? YES! Glad it helped. Cheers!
