I am trying to find out the name of the dark gray color used on the lower section of the front and rear bumpers and the side skirts. We lost one of the fog light hole covers and the replacement part is in black and needs to be painted to match. Does someone know the name and/or color code for this? TIA, Kurt O. | | | 01-04-2010, 06:35 AM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | That's gonna be a tough one Kurt. Not sure that their is a published code for the trim paint. Most people who have base models usually paint the lower trim to match the body color. May be a little more time consuming/costly, but the end results look much better. Best of luck to you and welcome to the forum. -Jesse | | | 01-04-2010, 06:47 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | that's strange that the replacement was black, on my stock bumpers they were just grey plastic did you get the OE BMW replacement or some aftermarket one? | | | 01-04-2010, 06:59 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | I've seen the stuff on one of the bimmer parts web pages, just cant remember which one, its put on with a roller. There is also a scuff in the grey area of the front bumper that I have to take care of. I may just pop off the other fog light cover and go to an automotive paint store and see if they can match it. Cheers, Kurt | Kurt, that sounds like the way you might have to go. On my 318 I color matched and installed the plastic side skirts from the later models. I also installed fog lights, so that negated the need for the caps. __________________ 1996 318ti - 2000 Z3 2.3 - 2012 MINI Cooper Hatchback | | | 01-06-2010, 06:04 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 2,019 | Try SEM Paint | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
