Also does anybody know if it is at all possible to adapt this setup into an m44 platform?

I think the only major difference is the head and block. The internals should be relatively universal, M47 crank, s52 pistons and rods should work. I'm not sure if the crank sprocket is different, the crank has been turned down to accept an M42 sprocket.

As for the differences: M44 blocks have knock sensors, M42's do not. M44 heads have two coolant sensors, M42's have one [you can make a T to fit two sensors] On another note, the M42 internals or forged and not cast like M44's... M42's are considered to be stronger.

Joe, don't sell! Put it together, give it some boost and run SM! (or SMS)

Bump for a good guy!

Ha! They don't pay grad students that kind of money!

The real question is why aren't you building it??

As long as you change the timing belt regularly. They go from fun to no fun real quick if you don't!

Anyway, that's not helping your sale...

Listen up everyone, you need to buy this. Yes, you! You will be faster than every 6 cylinder bmw, because your car will be lighter but have nearly as much power. The lower weight will also help you corner better. Win/win? Yes!
