New fuel pump not priming Hello, 95 time with late model fuel pump won't prime on key on position, will crank but won't start.. Error code is 1444 (no error). I've been researching the problem. Car has been idel for 6 years. Pump works during cranking and I chkd fuel and main relays... The seem good. Anyway, I'm question, I'm thinking the ECU may to bad due to age and exposer to moisture... Can I get a used at junkyard, what other car models are compatible, and don't know about the ews requirements or if it applies to my model. There is no alarm on this car. Additionally, the batteries on both keys are died, can that effect the car starting. Any help would be nice... Is that an option and would ews be an issue. Car I simply take my old ECU out and slap a used on in... From my research the ECU communication with the main relays and can keep car fuel pump from priming in on position and keep car from starting.. | | | 05-14-2020, 06:53 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | The 97 model ECU will not be compatible with the 95 model. Why? OBDII, different engine, different control system for the engine. | | | 05-15-2020, 05:42 PM | #4 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! You could try a 1995 model year DME. and bypass the EWS, but I doubt the DME is bad, if you are getting spark... | | | 06-09-2020, 03:12 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2020 Location: hawley Posts: 17 | check the cps sensor or change it, also check fuel relay and i would double check fuel pump. I have had weak fuel pumps that would still prime but wouldnt be able to pump enough pressure for the car to start. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Hybrid Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
