Default Headgasket M44

After overheating problem got fixed, i am unfortunately burning white smoke. I can see some white jelly under my oil cap, so thus I need a headgasket.

As i researched, I believe the thickness of the OEM headgasket is 1.74mm (0.0685039).

Since, this will be my drifting car. Is it okay to get a .080 thickness MLS gasket?
Is it just a drop in installation or would i be installing other new parts as well?

While I had the head off I would replace all the rubber hoses and lines found under the intake manifold as well as the two plastic water pipes, one on the side of the block, the other on the rear of the block. These are sure to fail somewhere past 100K odo. If the oil filter housing is leaking I would fix that while you can get to it easily. New valve cover gasket, of course. Good luck. John

i think you can skim the block 0.3mm, not sure about the head before anything touches, id just check nothing will hit before you put a thinnger gasket on.

dont forget also to redo your cam timing, i think it should be 110- 110 also

Damn, so much problems to fix on a bimmers. This is my first bmw car and i'm having problems after another. Just hope everything will be worth it after the long run.
Just got done having problems with overheating and multiple coolant flushes and now this. Thanks a lot guys..

@bmw2101 What tools would i need for cam timing? http://www.emnotek.com/p-3750-bmw-m5...-tool-kit.aspx right? I'm thinking about ordering that. Thanks

i dont know about those type of tool, i have only ever set them with a DTI

makle sure your rad is clean, it cost me 4 engines before i reolised my problem and found alkly rad on ebay for £110!!!
