Default Overheating

Car is overheating because a hose popped out behind the engine...I also don't have any warm air coming out of my heater....

I had to remove my upper intake manifold to get to it...taking off the fuel rail, injectors, "squid" and lower in take manifold would make it easier but hardly worth the trouble...

no questions really just wanted to tell you guys...adding out huge stock pile of documented experiences...

did the hose pop off of the plastic connector? might be a good idea to replace that while you've got the whole thing apart

Do make sure you change those plastic things (the one on the back and the one on the side). They probably kill more BMW motors than anything else.

oh and after having so much trouble installing my starter...I can take my intake manifold (upper and lower) off blind folded...at least in the dark...because when I was doing the job I it was out side in 40 degree weather

point is i just want to get my car running tonight...I've got some unfinished business in that area anyways...

There a split case cylindrical plastic box that "leaks air". The top and bottom seem to be held on by rivets. It's throwing off my check engine light as well as gives the car a rough idle. point is i want to replace that and i guess i'll get the evil part while i'm at it...

so in closing i've got two additional questions how do i get that evil plastic part off....and what's the name/purpose of the split case cylindrical box

i just had this happen to me. But one of my hoses tore while i was on my way to the dealer. In the end i paid $1000 to get everything replaced back there plus labor. I didn't want to but i really didn't know a lot about it so i gave in.
