I am still not 100% sure on how the stock BMW PCV works, but if its like any other car its just a one way valve. The nice thing about the ti PCV valve is that its NOT attached to the valve cover like some cars. This means the catch can is able to go in between the valve cover and the PCV. So short answer is yes! This is a sealed system that only catches the crap between the valve cover and stock PCV. I also started making a PCV eliminator that gets rid of the stock PCV and adds a billet block with a 3/8" npt port. This allows any type of fitting to be installed in place of the stock PCV (for example AN style fittings). Since the catch can is fitted with an optional check valve at no extra cost, it can be configured to keep the air flowing in one direction (toward the intake manifold spacer). The check valve is nice because is can help prevent boost from over pressurizing the crank case. In most cars this is a big benefit since their PCV is very weak. Like I said, I dont know about the stock ti PCV and its capabilities, but I know this system works fantastic on my 450whp Protege5. I am daily driving my ti with the PCV eliminated and the catch can has the check valve in it. It is catching more crud than when the PCV was left in place. But I do not have a turbo so I couldnt tell you for 100% sure. If you want to be the first to give a testament, let me know. Maybe we can work something out? My thoughts are people still need to be attracted to the product when its displayed in a picture. I would hate for any one little thing to take away from the overall quality of the kit. I have to play many roles in this business... engineer, marketing, sales.... Running the gammut of the operation by myself has those rewards and I love every bit of it! Thanks again for your insight! | Any word yet on cost and availability of the PVC eliminator? I updated the first post. The reason for the prices jumping all over is because the tanks keep evolving and the material prices keep going up and down. Bottom line: This tank will purify your combsution. It will keep the oil that comes out the valve cover from going into your intake. Helps keep injectors from getting gunked up, valves clean and spark plugs last longer. In turbo cars its even more important. The carbon build up can hide fuel molecules and the heat can ignite them at the wrong time (aka detonation). It simply hooks up between the valve cover and the PCV to purify combustion. | | | 11-10-2011, 05:55 AM | #70 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | | | | 11-10-2011, 02:19 PM | #71 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Henrico, VA USA Posts: 231 | How much to prior purchasers? This one is waiting for some fittings for completion, but for visual reference it shows the gloss black with translucent blue together. The drain handle, bracket, stainless nuts, and billet head are all done in the blue which will match the tanks' blue fitting once installed. | | | 11-13-2011, 08:59 PM | #73 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | | | | 11-13-2011, 09:00 PM | #74 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | | | | 12-15-2011, 12:01 PM | #75 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
