Default for thoes of you that replaced your starter

i'm in the process of replacing my starter. i am wondering how accessable is the starter. do i need to roemove anything, do i have to lift the car, might i have to pull the motor? how easy is it to get to that starter??

I believe that it is bolted onto the transmission bell housing. Do a search someone just asked this question.

It obviously has to be connected towards the transmisson, being that it has to turn the flywheel. I've never done a change on our tis, but knowing the complexity, and pain in the ass with simple things in our tight little engine compartment, there wshould be tons to move. I'd probably tey going from the bottom to start.

There is plenty of room in the engine compartment.

Try a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere with a big-block...

I had to use an open-end wrench to change some of the spark plugs!

Pop the hood and take a look.
