Default Re. $110.00 mods

I picked up a stock 97 base model Ti two weeks ago. I was fiening for some rims (hubcaps) and a front lip. I browsed a local Euro forum and picked up some OEM 15' flat black basketweaves for $100 and fabbed up a $10 front lip from the junkyard. What do you guys think?

After:

Working on getting some lowering springs next.

you know what? ... what i have to say, that is actually not TOO bad at all for $110 bucks spent. wheels are decent, better than the hubcaps for sure. the lip fits pretty nicely. reminds me of some other lip one of the guys made from a VW lip.
good work i must say for being on a budget.

That car desperately needs a license plate delete!

that lip looks great, what did it come off of?

the rims are ok, they would look better in 16" or 17" but they're not bad for $100

I'd spend another $30 and get a new hood roundel now

Not bad, but personally I would have saved that 110 bucks for a decent set of 17" wheels/tires or used it towards common wear items/maintenance. IMO, a totally stock base model looks 100x better than a cheaply modded one. The key to cheap mods is to make them not so obvious and minimal. If you look at a car and all you see is cheap mods, you kinda get the feeling that the owner is a cheapskate I know most of us don't have the finances to instantly turn our cars into show cars, but if you hold off and only purchase things that fit your overall goal, you'll be happier in the end.

Whoa, I really like the lip. How'd you make it? I want it!

Its all good. To each his own. I just wanted to share my ingenuity for fabbing up a front lip and the pick-up on the rims from a local Euro forum. This is my daily and will be modded at my own pace. 17's and springs are next and 17's are in the works for Spring 2010. I am a new BMW enthusiast and have admired them from afar, as Hondas are my first love. I am not new to tuning, as I have a decent example of two tastefully modded Integras. I turn every nut and bolt on every car that I own and tune the AEM for boost with the help of a friend. Just sharing some info with the members who might want to try a different route and I accept your opinion. Happy tuning to all.

jae rex- post up some pics of your other rides! I think we all respect the work it takes to mod a car with your own hands regardless of marque.

96cali, you asked for it. The entire build up of my JDM front end, converted 95 Integra is documented. I am currently in the process of building the bottom end for more boost (18lbs +) and a new turbo setup. Enjoy!

That looks quite good for all the cash spent, although i do think a MK3 VW Golf VR6 lower splitter would look very good.
