Thought I'd throw up a comparison pic of three exhausts. I thought to remove my Stromung off my 97 to show four exhausts, but it got too hot to play around. Before: Comparison: Left to right - Supersprint, Stock, OEM Bosal After: I want to get it about 1 1/2" higher like on my Cali. Nice tone, definitely looks better. See if she notices. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Haven't had the opportunity to get back under the car and figure out why... I suspect the cat section is too high at the end, a bad weld job by the shop who had replaced the cat prior to my ownership. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. Ya, same with my Stromung on the 97. I want to raise that on 2". It sits way too low, but centered just nice. Same with the Supersprint on the 95. I'll have to jack up the 98 Cali and see how that Supersprint is mounted as it is positioned perfect. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Or reweld the hangers higher. When I had the super sprint on my ti it sounded nice and mellow. Not too loud for comfort and was able to sneak up in the neighborhood late at night. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I did see they looked original for both cars, so I may order all six, but that shouldn't account for 2" of lowering. I was thinking about lifting the muffler section and adjusting the support just forward on the muffler, before the resonator upwards 1/2". Just concerned that would become a stress point __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! She drove around with the windows open to better enjoy it. (100+ degrees yesterday!) I guess the A/C blows very well! I have replacement hangers on order for both cars. I went back under the car on Sunday and adjusting the support did not help. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I took a few minutes to see if I could get the Stromung a little higher on the 97 Sport. It has a original Cat and manifold. I did replace the motor mounts last year. Here's the old and new hangers: After replacement, unfortunately no further lift, although, it is fairly solid. So looking further underneath, I see the limitation, the Stromung pipe is making contact with the subframe. I'll visit my Exhaust dude to see what options we have. I'll check out the 95 Supersprint sometime this week. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! OEM hangers I picked up from Pelican parts. We can trade my new ones for your mini hangars. I suspect it wont help until I work a bend in the Stromung exhaust to clear the subframe. Perhaps they may work for the Supersprint tho. See ya on the 20th.
