Arrow Shift knob takes off when I shift in 2nd

hey gang,
Does anyone know is their is a way to tighten my shift knob?? When I shift hard in second it tends to stay in my hand and then it just grinds my gears. It's not really safe when trying to cut into traffic either.
Thanks,

Lol, that happens to me. But I have a habbit of spinning my shifter. I was racing a camaro, and got stuck at 30 MPH or so after first gear, in neutral, because my shifter was in my hand. what a bad feeling that is lol. JB weld or epoxy would work... no point of me doing that til I get a new one though.

BMW Shift knobs are keyed so chances are yours just wore down. If it bothers you that much replace it and you'll be good to go.

Thanks,

Seems like the plastic liner inside is worn, so it doesn't click onto the slot on the shifter rod. Just buy a new shift knob. I'm thinking of getting this one for the track:

I believe Ed from bimmerbum.com can get that knob. You'll have to contact him to make sure. He does have other M knobs.

that's the exact one i've been looking for. well, i'd prefer it in wood but i'd never been able to get a part number for the shortened knobs.

i'll have to wait though. semester starts wed and tomorrow i have to buy books. yay (PFFFT!)

i'll let you know what the part number is when i get it. you can then decide where to source it if you want the same one. ed's prices are usually pretty good though.
