1995 ti with stock motor and aftermarket muffler. Previous owner installed H&R springs (slightly lower), Bilsteins, 17" 5-stars and some nice Kumho's. The car had 125K on it and I paid him $5600. Cosmetically, the car was excellent.

Default 1997 318ti Active $4200

Well, after reserching the Ti, I finally found one that had everything I wanted with only 126,000 miles on it. It is a '97, black, with traction control, automatic, sunroof, 10 spoke alloys, and gray cloths seats. It has the 10 speaker radio and the on board computer that tells you Miles till empty, avg speed, temp, and time. It is a blast to drive. I was tired of rowing my own gears, so the automatic is just fine for me. I paid $4200 cash.

Default 1996 ti auto w/ Active pkg - $4000

First, thank to everyone on this board. I lurked for weeks reading about problems and upgrades and prices. I'm glad I can give something back!

I bought mine 2 weeks ago for $4000. 121,014 on the ODO. Bought it from a former BMW tech who replaced the radiator, fuel pump and front calipers, pads & rotors. He threw in a set of rear pads, a trans cooler, fan motor he had around and the stock rims (was sitting on some Fondmetal rims at the time) all for the flat price. No issues, no lights on. Fresh oil change, new plugs and wires, K&N air filter. Bought in Philadelphia, PA.

The condition is excellent. A few very minor dings in the exterior. Frankly I couldn't notice until I waxed it. Inside is also very clean. Headliner is sagging, as is normal after 11 years.

I've gotten the exact same reaction from everyone that's seen it,

THAT'S A '96? THERE'S NO WAY THAT CAR IS THAT OLD!

I couldn't be happier. Thanks for keeping up such an informative site. I shopped for months before I settled on a ti, and I'm so glad I did.

Happy Trails.

Not sure if you're still updating this.

Year/Model: 1997 Sport (black on black)
Date Purchased: March 14, 2008
Location Purchased: Gretna, NE
Price Paid: $4500
Mileage When Purchased: 179,626
Options: Sport package, sunroof, 10-speaker sound system

condition: Very good. I'd say exterior was excellent, only one small dent, a cracked fog light, and a different set of 16" BMW wheels (not the normal Sport rims). Interior was nearly excellent. Driver window regulator needs replacing as does the shift knob, but everything was very clean and showed minimal wear. Mechanically it was very good. Needed front ball joints, valve cover gasket, and two power steering lines replaced. Engine looked fairly clean for a '97 with 180k miles.

Talking

Year/Model: 1998 TI with Sport package (gray with leather black interior )
Date Purchased: Feb 8, 2008
Location Purchased: Reading, PA
Price Paid: $1,500
Mileage When Purchased: 100,000
Options: Sport package, sunroof, $1,500 sound system: $300 Radio, 2 crossfire Amps, professionally installed, $300 compact sup in ported box (pure bass)

condition: Depends. Most people would say horrible. The sunroof was stuck open. Both windows were off track, and did not roll up. the interior was damaged (just the headliner, the driver side panel, and the speakers in the door, and in the back.) the car was also in an accident, and the door is smashed in (but just a little) and the front right armature was bent a little along with the front right rim.

- There was a mouse nest in my air filter, which i pulled out. there was a chimp monk living ontop of the fuse box.. which got sucked into the belts of the car... the radio was stolen out of it, but replaced when i bought it, but the dash was messed up.. my shifter is missing the leather.

but.. other then that.. the car is awesome. i fixed the sunroof for $9.00 myself. i am fixing the headliner. i replaced both rear speakers with 15 inch loud speakers and upped the amp to a 500 watt rms amp..

ehh.. but $1,500 was a steal.. :-)

Year/model:1995 Base
Date Purchased: March 2008
Location: Boston Area
Price: $3000
Mileage when Purchased: 150,000
Options: not much-it is a base model
Condition: No rust, a few little dents, some minor scratches, missing one fog light delete panel, headliner slightly sagging, torn exhaust hangers, rear hatch struts worn out, missing front undertray, leaking power steering fluid, worn stock suspension, clutch grabs very high up, rear subframe bushings significantly worn-will probably have to replace them soon, car pulls to the left, emergency brake not working, rear back up lights don't work and only one side for brake lights, was a smoker car but it cleaned up nicely and no more smell! It doesn't have a sunroof- a big plus for me.
