Default US Rallycross #2

My brother sent me this video of the latest rallycross at NJMP. Around 8mins in the 2WD limited class is shown which is won by a 328ti. Pretty cool video and definitely a cool car. Would be awesome if the owner posted up about it.

There's HD versions available if you watch on youtube.

Yeah, he looked like he knew how to drive. I wonder how much weight they were able to take out of it, it seemed much faster than the other cars.

That is my car. It tips the scales at a hair over 2700 with my fat butt and gear in it. It's running a stock 98 328is engine, ZF trans, and a E30 3.73 limited slip. It's a 24 hrs of lemons and chump car. We have been racing it there for about 4 years. I worked with a few other racers in rallycross a few years ago and when they came back I figured hey why not. My biggest comp is from a older VW GTI driven by Josh Wimpey (probably spelled that wrong) but he was doing another event. The next race is in Oct and Josh and I will both be there so that race should be closer. I am trying to build another TI for stage rally with a S50 but not sure when I'll get that car finished. If anyone has any questions about the car, the series, or how to join in please feel free to ask. It's a ton of fun and the events are very well put on.

Do the rules limit how light you can go? I'm guessing probably some kind of hp/weight limit given the comparable cars in class. I've got my TT prepped Ti down to 2450 with me in it and I've not gone crazy with any lightweight body panels or anything behind removing non-essentials. Definitely nice to see a new class growing and also a Ti doing well in it.
