Default Slow rpm drop to idle

Having an issue where rpm takes several seconds to fall back down to idle. It takes rough 3-5 seconds to fall from 3-4k back down to idle. I just replaced the ICV with a brand new unit today, was hoping that was the culprit since i had an icv blocked code. That was the only code i had too. Any ideas?

You might try cleaning the connections to the throttle position sensor. I had an issue with a fluctuating idle, which dropped too low, and that cured it. Not the same, but could be a common cause.

I can give it a try. I pulled codes again this morning and found:

P0170- fuel trim bank 1
P0335- crankshaft position sensor A circuit

I also read that a bad MAF may cause these issues. But im open to any and all suggestions.

Update: last night after the car had been sitting for a good 7 hours. I decided to start it, and while at idle i unplugged the MAF. As expected the car idled terrible, and nearly stalled. But when i reconnected the MAF, idle was perfect, rpm was dropping perfect, and it drove perfect. Still today, even after sitting all night its driving perfect. I have no idea what this means. Its as if by unplugging the MAF And reconnecting it, it somehow reset somthing and the car drives great now. Dont know how long it will last or what parts need to be replaced to maintain this result.

It could be you have improved the MAF connections by the unplug-replug process.
A trick that works with the E32 is to disconnect the battery and then join the cables (not the terminals)n together. This erases the learnt part of the ECU programming.
Sometimes it works, sometimes no difference but it is a cost free process. Let the wires shorted out for an hour or so. Sorry - you will have to reset the clock and radio.
