Default I'm new here

Hey all, I'm new to this forum. Just moved from old Volkswagen project cars to a 96 318Ti cali edition. I will start a thread for my project and I look forward to learning from everyone.

Still working on the details of acquiring the car as soon as it's in the garage pics will be up... it's not too pretty needs some truckloads of TLC

lol I just realized I should probably elaborate on that... The car doesn't actually run at this point... it's been passed through a slew of different mechanics none of which are very commendable for their work, which is also where it received most of it's abuse. From what I can gather, the flywheel was replaced and the starter was then not reinstalled correctly which created more problems. when it went back in for that the ECU was either stolen or suspect so there is either a different one, or the original one sitting in the passengers seat. It's hard to gather an accurate history from people that don't know what an engine is. I'm a student (Network Administration) so my income isn't the highest which might make this project very slow going. Also I'm not the most automotive savvy one out there so prepare for stupid questions.

lol... thats what the site is for man. if i cant answer a question for you, i guarantee someone on here will. good luck with the project though. and be carefull with financial priorities

yea def good luck with that car... poor thing was SOOOOO sad I literally had the cash in my hand ready to hand it to the kids brother this afternoon and he showed me a salvage title and i said noperoooo PASS =P nys is way to much a bitch to get a salvage car inspected... that car is evil we sat there working on getting the hood open for almost a hour today!! UGH lol i wish u the best of luck ive almost bought that car on 3 different occassions!! i just didnt really want the headache of it they know really nothing about whats truly wrong with it =/ which doesnt help at all!! i actually took a pic of it while i was there hehehehe hope u dont mind i just thought it was a small world! i wish u all the luck in the world hun!

I am the brother hahahaha. I didn't know it had a salvage title until that day too. Someone grabbed it for parts though so oh well... I'll have to wait for another one to come by.

Oh nice!! Hi again lol =) I hope u do ineed get a ti theyre great cars! I wish that one didnt have salvage cause id have her here today stripping her down and starting from scratch =( but what can ya do cant save em all I guess LOL well hope to continue to see u around here!! thanks again for the help with the hood HAHAH
