It has been fairly hot here for the first time in 6 months and it looks like the ti is acting funny. When I accelerate and rev high, my tachometer gets stuck at 3500 rpm. It will stay in this position until my engine revs about 1000rpms above or below the stuck position. Do I need to replace something in my gauge cluster or should I just remove it and check to see if there is anything stuck/loose in there? #2. My used DASC will be comming in less then 2 weeks and I have read that I should use cooler spark plugs. It is recommended to use NGK #7's but I am having trouble finding that temperature plug. Are there Bosch or other spark plugs that would work well with a DASC that are easier to come by? #3. Also concerning the DASC, I have yet to install any type of exhaust on my ti and I was wondering which type would best compliment the DASC. I was thinking about a Remus because they come with "valves" to customize the pitch of the exhaust. Anybody with a DASC have a good/cheaper alternative that minimizes back pressure and sounds good? ANY AUDIO OR VIDEO CLIPS of a DASC'ed ti with aftermarket exhaust would be extremely helpful. ( I know Dusten had some clips of his car but I can't get them to play) #4. My ABS light is lit up and apparently I will be needing at least 2 new sensors. They are like 185$ a piece (@ cost) and I really don't know if I can afford to get them rite now. Is it neccesary to get them replaced asap or can I wait a while? I never remember the ABS actually helping me stop faster winter so I don't see the need for it. The only nuisance they cause me is that the ABS will engage when the sensors get wet. The ABS has engaged when I have lightly tapped the brakes, and it sometimes fires when my foot is completely off the brakes (f-ing annoying). What do you guys recommend I do? | | | 06-08-2008, 04:15 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Anybody? | | | 06-08-2008, 06:12 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | I don't think the ti remus exhaust has that tuneable sound wafer screw thing-a-ma-jigger __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . It hasn't annoyed me enough yet to figure out what's going on. | | | 06-13-2008, 04:51 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | ABS??? I actually dodged a deer while skidding into a stop and I was able to change directions too. The ground was wet though so I don't know if that helped the car change directions, but the steering did not lock up on me. I didn't hear the ABS pumping sound so I know they weren't doing anything. As to what you should do, I'm not qualified to even make a suggestion and that's just my experience so far with the ABS being broken. | | | 06-15-2008, 03:28 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Yeah, I don't think I will do anything about my ABS but I really gotta find some spark plugs. Are the stock spark plugs unusable or can I keep them in until I find the lower temp. ones? | | | 06-15-2008, 04:32 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: U.S. Posts: 19 | Lower temp spark plugs are not necessary. | | | 06-15-2008, 04:46 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Haha who is this guy???
