I got a hold of an m50 and can't find anyone with a truck available to help me transport it. I doubt it, but was wondering if it would be possible to put the engine in my trunk with the seats down? Also, my car is lowered, so my issue is extreme rubbing. 1,000 Posts! | | | 04-30-2007, 07:14 PM | #2 | doesn't care about you. Put some plastic down first. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 04-30-2007, 07:17 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Thanks, I'm on my way right now to get it. | | | 04-30-2007, 07:41 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Fl...tampa area Posts: 320 | i htink im too late but get trashbags and newspaper and just hope it has no oil left in it! it shouldnt rub, not much atleast...try not to leave it in there for long though or your cars gonna smell like an engine haha | | | 04-30-2007, 08:12 PM | #5 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Be prepared for "helpful" comments from anyone who passes by while you're putting the engine in the cargo area. E.g., "Uh, I think that's supposed to go in the front." :-D __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! I would use plastic too. As for weight, I regularly load 500 lbs worth of landscaping rock in my trunk. Just take it slow, and the car will oversteer if heavily loaded in the rear. | | | 04-30-2007, 08:46 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | You do realize you have 250lbs of unsecured metal right behind your head? Better hope there are no panic stops. Be sure to strap that sucker in place or bolt it to a mini pallet. Good luck! __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 05-01-2007, 03:28 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Well I have the motor in my garage now and project 325ti is under way!!! 1996 328ti: I got the motor from a guy named Patrick here in Orlando. What came with it? __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 05-01-2007, 01:22 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Good luck dude, its a really fun project.
