Default What shocks will be best for my ti?

I am doing a little project with my ti. I am making it a staggered looked car. wide at the rear and a bit skinnier at the front. My shocks on the back are still stock from 95 and are sagging a little to low for me to put some staggered rims onto it. I am willing to purchase new shocks in the back to raise my back end slightly. give it a little raise in the back and the front will be a little lower. What shocks should i look into and what will do the job?

Thanks.

what part of Canada are you from?

IMO, if your going to swap the shocks, do them all and go with Bilstiens, its an expensive the first time, but then you never need to buy shocks again ( lifetime warranty )

If your looking for a quick fix, I could sell you my old rear shocks for relatively cheap, worked A+ when I still had them on the car. And im also from canada, so shipping wouldn't be bad at all.

Alternatively, any E30 shocks will do in the rear.

Springs give ride height, not the shocks.

wouldn't the shocks being worn out cause the car to sit a little lower?

you want to raise the car 2½" ABOVE the standard height?

that may look a bit weird..

Springs control ride height....Shocks control dampening. To lift the rear add spring pads or go with base model springs to lift rear end. I would also replace all four shocks if you know they are worn out otherwise you will be replacing your rubber faster than you expected to.

Shop on some of the E30 boards for rear shocks and springs...plenty of kids on a serios budget on these sites. Or depending on your pocket cash you could do EBAY coil overs. I don't like the quality of em but for a budget and what you want to do these sound like they will suit you best.

Good luck.

Thanks M technik. I am putting big wheels on 9" rear. i was thinking of doing a wide body. but until i get the stock engine out i dont want to do that. they are 17" rims. Will E30 springs and shocks raise me up alittle? i was looking a coil-overs as well and i get some for a cheap price but im not sure how much itd raise the back end. I have put the rims on and i need a little bit of room. using a speed jack i imitated what ride height i wanted and it looked great. it didnt look like an off-roading car. anyways once i find a way to raise the car. i will definately post some pictures.

thanks.

I can't help you with the 9" wheels I am not familar enough with bobtails to say yes they will fit but I can tell you they will fit a standard E30.

Friend of mines car, been in the works for quite some time.

hey guys,
I think i have found my suspension. I am going to put 4 coilover springs.
http://www.ground-control-store.com/...p/II=122/CA=99
These coilover springs attach to any shock. I am going to put 4 bilsteins on the car and use these coilovers. One thing im not sure of is that these coilovers say 429.00. But i dont know under the quantaty section it say 1 through 4 . Im not sure if 1 under the quantaty section means you get the 1 set of 4.?? Can someone let me know.
