Unscrew the schrader valve on the fuel rail, screw on the tester, crank, and see what your pressure numbers are. But seriously, see what the cel says, there's likely somethin stored in there. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-18-2013, 04:03 AM | #48 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Considering the age of these cars 2 new relays would not be a bad investment.. Does this mean I need a new MAF? and call it good? __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 06-18-2013, 07:54 PM | #51 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Sounds like you have some vacuum leaks, a bad maf, and a bad precat o2 sensor. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-18-2013, 07:56 PM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma Sounds like you have some vacuum leaks, a bad maf, and a bad precat o2 sensor. | Thanks! __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 06-18-2013, 08:39 PM | #53 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma Sounds like you have some vacuum leaks, a bad maf, and a bad precat o2 sensor. | Just ordered both parts....lets hope this is it!... It could've coated the inside of the maf thus creating a faulty reading. Maf usually causes misfires from there. O2 causes fuel trim changing, vacuum leaks are unmetered and cause sensors to create improper readings and specs to the dme. I have extra maf here if you need __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-18-2013, 09:01 PM | #55 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma Yes. The aren't really that many hoses on our cars. __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 06-18-2013, 11:19 PM | #56 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Camarillo, CA Posts: 79 | Vacuum leaks Each injector has a vacuum hose. They connect together and attach to the intake boot which is past the MAF sensor. The boots themselves can crack too. The PCV system has vacuum hoses in and out. Then, there is the vacuum line to the brake booster. The intake manifold is a 2-piece system. You could have a leak between the 2 pieces. A smoke machine is excellent to diagnose these problems. __________________ Pierre 96 318ti (S52), 97 318ti, 95 318ti, 69 2002 (M20), 74 2002tii, 76 530i (3.3), 79 323i, 81 528i, 90 325i, 91 318is, 97 Z3, 2002 330i, 2002 R1150RT. If its the m42/m44 setup, then the for is on the rail. Also, for the m4x, the fuel pressure should be around 45 static. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-21-2013, 04:48 PM | #58 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Parts should be here today, but a buddy told me a trick to see if the MAF was the problem... un plug it and turn it on... boom it ran. Plugged it back in and it wouldn't run... un plugged it again, and it ran... Of course plug and un plug while the car was off. My problem should be solved (fingers crossed) when I install the new MAF and pre-cat O2 __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 06-21-2013, 08:30 PM | #59 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Hope that solves your issues!
