I'm kinda curious to see the data logging at the track. My track timer is eventually going to use bluetooth data from the OBD2. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-15-2012, 11:47 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Phx Posts: 196 | How did this work out? I am looking at getting set up. Read mixed reviews on the ebay tool accuracy. | | | 07-16-2012, 12:26 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I bought this bluetooth scan tool, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o01_s00_i00 and use the free version of torque and it works great. It reads and clears codes and you can monitor some stuff like coolant temp, intake air temp, timing, etc. Refresh rate is pretty slow but I think that is on the OBDII side and not the bluetooth. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-16-2012, 12:37 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Phx Posts: 196 | Great, thanks. Taking a look. Happily stumbled onto this app this morning. | | | 07-16-2012, 01:03 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | My Chinese one is working just fine. I think I have the one above. I thought it crapped out but discovered I had bent a pin. Bent it back. No issues. Too bad it doesn't monitor oil though. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-16-2012, 04:23 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Des Plaines, IL Posts: 147 | That's a great app. I use it to clean the cel. | | | 07-16-2012, 06:29 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Irvine, California Posts: 73 | i hvae this and use it on my 2000 323i fun little tool to use, measures 0-60s, clear check engine light codes, but it is a bit laggy but that because its very inexpensive | | | 07-16-2012, 10:40 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Phx Posts: 196 | Has anyone tried the Kiwi Bluethooth one that could speak to the lag. Is the consensus the lag is on the side of the OBDII and not the bluetooth tool? | | | 07-24-2012, 05:20 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | When you guys use Torque, what coolant temps do you see when the needle is in the middle of the gauge? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-24-2012, 05:25 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Phx Posts: 196 | Hey, I was literally thinking that this morning and wanting to post. I installed it last Friday and have been showing 208.4 F, with a fluctuation to 210 F now and then. How about you? | | | 07-24-2012, 05:27 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Phx Posts: 196 | To add, my needle since I got the car last summer rests just to the right of the middle. This always worried me, but I've seen some other posts saying the same thing. So middle might be a couple degrees less. | | | 07-24-2012, 06:12 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Yeah, mine is usually around 208-210F. I've seen it go up to 215F when idling in traffic but not higher, I guess that's when the fan kicks on. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
