Default What is this?

Came in the side well in the back of my car. Looks like fabric folded up. It's in a sealed plastic bag.

?

The word Teile means Divide.
Maybe it's to cover the bodies of the dead inside the hatch prior to Dividing them.
I could be wrong...this is just a guess.
Anyone else have a clue?

hahahaha, Teile is actually plural for part (means parts) and in some parts of germany is used as slang for male genitalia

why not open it up and enlighten us?

I think Teile just means part. Could be a dash cover or something.

I still have one of those. I just assumed it was a towel for cleaning your hands after changing flat tire - I've never opened it. Total guess though.

Interesting when you Google "original bmw teile" a 318ti.org link is #1! We didn't know in 2005 either

I guess I could open it. Although, maybe it's like a old action figure and will make my car worth $100,000 because it has a genuine unopened thingamajigger. no?

I figured this was a silly question to ask on here but I was curious and thought everyone had one. It has it's fitted spot in the right side well.

Ooh, check this out. Looks like it's a plastic bag to put your dirty, flat tire/wheel when you change a flat.

I am guessing. Polishing cloth or protective tire cover. Neither of which is very exciting. oh well....moving on.

The OEM plastic liner in my hatch well prevents a dirty tire from mucking up the carpet and eliminates the need for the plastic bag.

I have no spare so I don't have that worry.

I carry a plug kit, fix-a-flat and a compressor.

It did not help much the one time I needed it: the stem was damaged...
