Couldn't imagine it being more than 12 bucks for the tool and a couple bucks to ship. | | | 04-11-2012, 05:13 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Chicago Posts: 20 | I mostly need the special tool 11, the e12 I can get almost anywhere I just figured I would add it to the add -crash | | | 04-12-2012, 07:16 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Is tool #11 the cam locking jig? | | | 04-12-2012, 01:18 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Chicago Posts: 20 | Quote: Originally Posted by CirrusSR22 Is tool #11 the cam locking jig? | Yupp -crash | | | 04-16-2012, 08:32 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | I bought mine on eBay. JTC Tools #1807. The box says for the M42 and M50 engines but it works with the M44 as well. Heads up though that the hole to fit the flywheel pin is usually rusted which makes it hard to push the pin in. I used a small round file to clean the rust off the hole, allowing it to fit. Just look for ones that list the M42 or M44. It'll run you roughly $60-$90. I wouldn't be afraid to buy a used one either. Search: BMW cam alignment tool jig (or some combination of those words) Here's what it looks like: http://eng.jtc.com.tw/products/index...a&id=412&top=0 You'll see many others for sale for other BMWs that have extra parts. You just need that block and pin for the M42/M44. I made my own, it was pretty easy(mine's for an S52 though, won't be any use to you) | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
