Are you turning the wheel after you pull the key out? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 02-20-2010, 02:42 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Niceville, FL Posts: 3 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri Mine only locks if I turn the steering wheel with the key out of the ignition. I have to wiggle the wheel back and forth until it releases before I can steer... | | | 02-20-2010, 03:40 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Shiloh Illinois Posts: 8 | Grr its an irritating issue to fix. You have to take the steering column off directly behind the steering wheel and its a little off-white plastic piece. You have to break it LOL or cut it off. (i suggest cutting it hehe). Let me know if that helps. If not ill try to find pics of it. Or something. | | | 02-20-2010, 04:45 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Louisiana Posts: 1,093 | i dont want to break my car to fix it i want to know the cause.. __________________ was the 1 an only Bagged Ti on 19's!! | | | 02-20-2010, 05:59 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Punishment for the air bags? You offended the german god of automobiles.... Totally joking,, I think some lube in the column in the pin that locks the wheel would help ya out... You can get the fluid to run in to the mechanism. I washed mine out with electraclean then used a pair of the red tube things taped together to dribble lube into the lock unit along the housing.
