Is there a difference in size/length between the M coupe S52 & ZF tranny and the M3 S52 & ZF tranny? Reason I ask is because I always see a price difference on SSK's for them; $395 for M3 application and $295 for M coupe application. I thought they share the same motor and tranny specifications??? Can someone clarify this for me please...? __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! No matter what chassis the motor and transmission is fitted in, the shifter should be in the same location in relation to the driver's seat. Since the M Coupe/Z3's are significantly different than the other e36's, they use shorter selector rods. The difference in price could be somehow related to the higher demand for regular e36 SSK's since M Coupes and Z3's already have a nice setup, hence many people using OEM Z3 shift kits as an upgrade on our cars | | | 09-05-2009, 07:16 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | so, jesse. what do you think i should get? the M coupe one or the M3 one? Joe at the ///M shop said i should look into the M coupe one. He said that thats what he has in his swapped ti and its really good. but then again the guys at RE and UUC say I should stick with the M3 application. But if the M coupe is better and for less money, shoot i'd buy it tomorrow. I received some checks of about $250 total, so now i can buy one easier. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! He knows his stuff. | | | 09-06-2009, 04:04 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | which year should i get? i was looking on the UUC website and it shows different Z3models; 1.9, 2.0, 2.2, 2.5, 2.8, 3.0; and then there's the M roadster and M coupe which are the same p/n's. I'm guess the M coupe/roadster will still work even though it says 99-03. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
