is not ridiculous !!!!As you said "properly equiped"
FWD are fine even without special equipment!!!
This is not a competence b/t one or the other jst the plain facts..not reason to be offensive.

I don't know if it's the amount of car racing video games my generation plays or what, but I, along with my close buds, do fine in snowy weather. I guess its too much Project Gotham Racing or something. Besides that, IMO, having a standard transmission in the snow is enough to get you out of most sticky situations. And about the RWD misconception, while the weight distribution seems to be in favor of the FWD vehicles, RWD cars seem to be able to maneuver more easily in slushy/snowy/icy conditions because we can slide it out much easier.

RWD is completely tolerable in the winter conditions, even if you have all seasons. Not to be sexist, but there are many women out there that drive their BMW's in Minnesota winters without issues. I had a winter car but a bearing went on it, so now I am forced to drive the TI. I have Potenza G009's in the front, and Blizzak WS-12's in the rear. I plan to get some snows for the front to aid in braking and steering control, it's something thats not too expensive and alot of people would agree that it's very important.

Id say the only complaint is my H&R sport springs have the front of the car lowered 2 inches so it's basically a fancy m3 bumper snowplow, and the snow has knocked out my grille. But I'm not so concerned, as it's just a car. Cars are meant to be driven, and they will never be perfect!

My roommate works at TiresPlus, and he's always telling me stories about the people he see's and how bad their tires are, and that lots of people in Minnesota have illegal tires.

I'm going to say that video games have nothing to do with your driving skill or lack thereof. You have 1 year of driving experience and think that you are a good driver. When you are 15-20 your head is filled with all kinds of off the wall thoughts like this...it's part of being a kid. I thought the same thing.

No offense.

I still think the same thing. After every driving school I do I realize how little I knew.

i chose to take a defensive drivers course to help save money on my insurance and its blows my mind how bad some people are at driving.

that really opened my mind about so many things on the road.

especially moving to dallas texas from oregon.

in oregon everyone is courteous and nice. and now i am in dallas texas where people NEVER use their blinkers, run red lights, go 60 in a 45, cut multiple people off a minute, and tail gate in the pouring rain!

but as soon as it does rain it is kinda funny to see a wreck literally every 5 minutes, wether it be a car on a tow truck destroyed, or 3 cars on the side of the road that hit each other from following to close.

Well I guess I just like to tell myself the BMW driving schools taught me something. No offense taken.

EDIT:: And I didn't mean to say that I think I'm an amazing driver, just that compared to parents and other older people I've driven with (in the snow), I "drive" more competantly than they do/can.

im not trying to start anything or flame but....

why would you state that you thought all the driving video games taught you how to drive. and then in defense to what dusten said you say it was the bmw driving schools.

seems kinda strange.

why wouldnt you have said in the first place that you took bmw classes. and not hav relied on your past video game playing to defend against your driving skills
