Anyway, the SRS code for the passenger sensor mat is tripping. To be honest, I'm too lazy and it's freezing cold to investigate now. My questions is, if the sensor/sensor box under the seat is D.O.A, will the passenger airbag by default always be activated? I worry about my GF if the light is on, and her airbag wouldn't deploy. I have nothing more than the internet to back that up. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-11-2011, 04:55 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti I've always been under the impression that the airbag will deploy as a failsafe. You should know that if it's the sensor mat in the seat itself that it's going to be a PITA to replace. It's between the cloth and the cushion in the seat itself and requires upholstery work to remove/replace. Mine was done twice under warranty in the first few years I had the car and each time they had the car for several days while it was repaired. Good luck. | | | 01-12-2011, 02:45 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I've replaced the foam in my seats, as well as adding lumbar control, so I have done surgery on these before. Hoping it's just a loose connection on the control box.
